Life jackets are used in cases of emergency only (not at the ship pools). Lifejackets are located within passenger/crew cabins (in the closet). Cruise Hive was established back in 2008 and among the earliest blogs in the industry.

No official announcement has been made by Carnival Cruise Line as of May 19, 2022. The company's brand ambassador John Heald made a statement that technicians would meet the ship in Galveston to fix the propulsion system.[26] As of June 2022, no further problems have been reported. Here, cruisers will find SportSquare and the Clubhouse, which offer games like Ping-Pong, mini-golf, and outdoor billiards, as well as wacky outdoor fitness equipment. The most innovative option is the SkyRide, a recumbent bike ride around an elevated track. Cherry on Top sells bulk candy and other goodies if the complimentary desserts onboard can't shake your craving for Sour Patch Kids. True gourmets might want to splurge on the Chef’s Table, a small-group dinner experience prepared and hosted by one of the ship’s top chefs.

In November, the ship was repositioned to New York for two 11-day cruises and later that month started year-round Caribbean service from Miami. In May 2017, CCL created a tropical-flavored draft beer via a partnership with the Miami-based Concrete Beach Brewery. The special beer is served exclusively at the "RedFrog Pub and Brewery" on Carnival Vista - the first brewery found on a North America-based cruise liner. The new Miami Guava Wheat Beer was hand-crafted by Colin Presby (brewmaster on the shipboard brewery) and made with best ingredients. At JiJi Asian Kitchen®, everything old is definitely new again as classic dishes and a traditional northern-country style are reinterpreted through a modern lens.
If your group likes to sail a little closer to the waves — or just in a calm location at the aft of the ship — choose a Family Harbor Cove Balcony stateroom. You’ll find your outpost a wave-watcher’s paradise… and while we can’t promise, you just might catch a living, swimming marine biology lesson from your railing! This stateroom features a unique nautical décor inspired by the craft of seafaring itself. The whole family will also enjoy exclusive access to the nearby Family Harbor Lounge, plus more great perks around the ship.
If you do want to splurge a bit, here are your extra-fee dining options:
A private yacht it’s not… but leave the sailing to us — you’d rather be relaxing anyway. Choose from a variety of spacious accommodations, including suites, balconies, interior staterooms and oceanviews. "Family Zone" with Family Harbor Staterooms & Suites were introduced on Carnival Vista and can accommodate up to five guests.
To truly experience the cozy sanctuary that a harbor provides, check out a Family Harbor Interior stateroom. These rooms are not only an affordable way to keep the family close, but feature a unique nautical decor inspired by the craft of seafaring itself. And while you sail along, the whole family will enjoy exclusive access to the nearby Family Harbor Lounge, plus more great perks around the ship. We designed Carnival Vista balcony staterooms for maximum sea breeze and the most stunning views, and this stateroom features a balcony that's even wider than our standard balcony. Enjoy the extra outdoor space, along with all the standard Carnival stateroom amenities. Family life is the sweet life, especially when in a Family Harbor Suite.
Onboard Activities
For dinner, savor every morsel with the expansive dining room menu. For an even finer dining experience, take your date to the specialty steakhouse, (a nominal fee is charged.) Here you’ll enjoy mouthwatering gourmet cuisine. Plus, get oven-baked pizzas and calzones, salads, soft-serve ice cream, and frozen yogurt whenever the cravings strike. You’ll enjoy your meal among Asian prayer rolls and Mongolian-inspired fabrics that infuse northern-country style into this unique culinary experience.

In all rooms you'll find both 110 and 230 power outlets, as well as USB outlets. All are by the desk; in other words, there are no outlets by the bed, a real shortcoming in our opinion. In standard rooms (inside, ocean view and balcony), the power outlets are located directly beneath the mirror, making it impossible to plug-in any oversized chargers. Bring a power cord if you have oversized chargers (like for a camera battery). Carnival ensures there’s enough love to go around with age-appropriate programs and activities for all ages. That being said, Carnival has a wonderful kids program for ages 2 to 17.

You can find family-friendly spa treatments, too, in case you want to take one of your kids for a spa day. Of course, if your idea of outdoor fun includes more lounging than adrenaline, you’ll easily find lots of spots to kick back and soak in some rays, thanks to the plentiful sun decks, including the adults-only Serenity sun deck. If you’re not interested in the water features, you’ll find fun at the ropes course and the SkyRide experience, both of which test your comfort with heights. As mentioned, there are plenty of complimentary dining options on the ship. You’ll never get bored of the same ol’ thing when hunting down your breakfast or dinner, and you might not even feel the need to try any of the extra-fee dining options. Carnival Vista Deluxe Ocean View cabins are 230 square feet and have two bathrooms, one with toilet and shower and one with toilet and junior tub.

Aft of the Lido Marketplace is Pizzeria del Capitano, the ship’s 24-hour pizzeria. It’s flanked by the Seafood Shack, where cruisers pay extra for clam chowder, lobster rolls, and other New England-style seafood dishes. Carnival Vista has two main dining rooms, Horizons and Reflections, large banquet-style venues that look fancy but are never stuffy. You’ll be assigned to one of them, depending on whether you choose set-time, assigned-table dining or flexible anytime dining. During the 2016 inaugural season in Europe, the liner operated on 8- to 13-day Mediterranean itineraries out of homeports Athens Greece and Barcelona Spain.
The dress code on Carnival Vista is pretty casual, even on “elegant nights”, so there is no need to pack a tuxedo or cocktail dress if you think you’ll be happy dining in the buffet on the more formal evenings. The biggest differences between them, however, are the dining and entertainment options available on each – and Carnival Vista beats both. Carnival Magic and Carnival Dream lack the IMAX theater, Dr. Seuss Bookville and SkyRide that Carnival Vista has.
Aft of the Lido Marketplace, the Tides Pool and its two hot tubs are close to drinks, pizza, and ice cream. Cruisers who prefer to put on their own show, or watch the talents (or lack thereof) of their shipmates, should seek out the Lip Sync Battle competitions throughout the cruise or the always-popular karaoke nights onboard. The RedFrog Pub and Brewery is a go-to spot for beer brewed right onboard, but it also has a small bites menu for those needing fuel for a game of foosball or cornhole.
There was no sense that if you didn't do it all you were missing out. Perhaps that's because our fellow passengers were all laid-back, as ready to chill out as they were to have fun. Carnival Cruise Line's Carnival Vista might just be one of the line's most fun, with a tons of scheduled daily activities, outside attractions and a nightlife that doesn't slow down till late.
Melt your cares away at the peaceful whirlpools and get a massage in a private hut. While you are indulging in some "me" time, excitement and fun are provided to children with age-specific youth activities. As you step into a Junior Suite aboard Carnival Vista, you can't help but feel that you're stepping into full-size luxury in a smaller package. Featuring a standard-size balcony, in a Carnival Vista Junior Suite you'll find everything else there is to love about a suite, including VIP check-in, a walk-in closet... On Carnival Vista, Deluxe Ocean View staterooms are a great choice for families who want to let the sun shine in as they sail.
The soothing in-room whirlpool tub will help you stay relaxed after your relaxing spa treatment. And like all suites, a Cloud 9 Spa Suite features VIP check-in, which lets you easily get right up to your amazing stateroom. The vessel's steel-cutting ceremony was in February 2014, and its keel was laid in October. By gross tonnage, Vista-class are currently the largest Carnival liners. There's room for you and your things — with a large room and balcony — and a walk-in closet. We know — sitting at home, it’s hard to imagine that, but trust us — it’s really, really nice to have a place to unwind from the day’s excitement.
